What do you get when you mix a former Condé Nast magazine editor and hip-hop music journalist with a doctor of Eastern medicine? Lovely to meet you, I’m Giselle.
After a decade-plus as a writer and content creator in NYC and LA, I switched careers (like, big time!) and founded REMIX Acupuncture and Integrative Health in Chicago in 2012, a wellness studio that blends ancient medicine with modern needs— and launched a complementary, practitioner-driven skincare and lifestyle brand, REMIX by Giselle Wasfie.
I was responsible for all stages of development and growth of the brand - from the formulation of products to creative direction, marketing strategy, social media, brand design, project management, press and influencer relationships, and so much more.
I was invited to speak about green beauty brand building, and natural medicine for trend-setting cultural think-tanks such as Unilever’s Innovation Lab in NYC , and IDEO in Chicago, and was named as “One of Top 5 Wellness Influencers” in Chicago by Modern Luxury magazine.
In 2018, the REMIX by Giselle Wasfie product line was chosen by ALLURE as “One of the Top 21 Indie Beauty Brands” in America. In 2023, I sold the product line and began business school in London, focusing on innovation, service design, and leadership.

When REMIX was born in 2012, making wellness and self-care feel relevant, cool and relatable was a new concept. As one of the first-to-market, internationally-recognized holistic studios and green beauty brands with a traditional Eastern medicine angle, we made ancient medicine relatable and relevant. We rooted our remedies with our ancient founders’ teachings as the line grew organically, being carried by retailers like Urban Outfitters. In 2023, I sold the product line, and continue to work as a consultant for the buyer.

Dr. Giselle Wasfie has been featured as an expert in The New York Times, WELL + GOOD, POOSH, Shape, BYRDIE, Refinery29, and Marie Claire, among other publications; and, as a guest on the One Part Podcast, among others. Dr. Wasfie also created a custom, herbally-driven, product line for juice bar, Owen + Alchemy. She’s appeared as a social media influencer for brands like Summer Fridays, creating credible, original content, based in Eastern medicine.
